Hey, I'm Valeriy, a full-stack engineer with deep expertise in tech stacks, user experience, and leadership. I'm skilled in managing both legacy and new code, designing robust architectures, and speaking at tech conferences. Even organized a few 😀.
I am very passionate about software development and the surrounding things, and always strive to improve my knowledge and experience. During my career, I bounced between team leadership and individual contribution a few times, and it's fair to say that I am proficient in both.
I tend to focus more on backend and architecture and product rather than project development nowadays, but don't let it discourage you if you need some kind of small website order.
While working with Valeriy for two years at Moonfare, I came to know Valeriy as an exceptionally talented engineer and engineering manager.
Hence, when my newly founded company required technical expertise for how to build our initial product, Valeriy was a natural choice. His comprehensive understanding of the entire tech stack from infrastructure over backend to frontend, coupled with his ability to craft solutions tailored to a business's specific stage and needs, proved invaluable. Furthermore, Valeriy's extensive experience in assessing technical talent has been an important part of our recruiting process.
It was a pleasure to work with Valeriy, his experience and knowledge helped us solve various tasks and problems in application development many times. He helped set up a lot of processes, always advocated for quality and automation, helped with hiring developers for the team and in general was a great support for me. A few aspects of his contribution at Moonfare I can easily recall:
- He advocates for maximum automation - if any processes need to be followed, they should be as maximum as possible automated
- He has a great understanding of application development architecture and knows very well when what approach is best to use in different situations. He was always happy to share his thoughts during architectural discussions with other engineers
- Contributed in preparing for iso certification
- Likes to code a lot himself: he prepared some very handy scripts, for example, to check how much we refactored the code into a new cleaner version
- Always ready even late at evening to help fix bugs, e.g. we were debugging code quite late at evening, when internal colleagues complained about malfunctions in the system
As an EM in training, I've really enjoyed the mentorship, shadowing your work and slowly taking on responsibilities has greatly prepared me for what is to come, however I do feel that there was much more to learn.
During our time together at Lilt, collaborating with Valeriy on a vast number of projects was always a very pleasant experience. He demonstrated continuously strong leadership negotiating with all stakeholders a fine balance between technical excellence and meeting customer needs in a timely manner. Additionally, Valeriy was vested in not only constantly learning new technologies, but also coaching and mentorship more junior engineers and even evangelizing about newer trends and technologies. Overall, Valeriy demonstrated to have what it takes to make any big technical problem attainable and lead a team to achieve business goals, while striving for technical excellence.
